Multidisciplinary artist

Linda Vachon

Linda Vachon is a self-taught artist who has been exploring photography and image processing since 2000. Her discovery of European poster artists guided her approach very early on. She chose to work on wooden panels, a medium that reminds her of the city fences covered by the accumulation of posters, an urban landscape that she loves and that inspires her.

Moving from digital drawing to print on paper, she works with different mediums such as acrylic, oil and pencil. She also frequently uses photography and digitizes each step of her creative process. The human being is her main subject of research. From encounter to encounter, she gets in touch with their colours and nuances. She describes her work as "a long conversation between timeless women who are at the same time me and others.

Each new creation is based on a part of an existing work: by playing with the details of her illustrations and incorporating them into a new work, she sets up a thread that conveys a moving message, full of intimacy and connection between the beings that make up her universe.

Winner of the Prix Arts Médiatiques at the Galart and at the Festival de la poésie de Montréal, Linda Vachon aspires to share her eclectic universe with the spectator.
