What is the history of the gallery

Founded by Caroline St-Pierre and Olivier Mineau, Galerie d'art Berthelet was born against the backdrop of a global pandemic, but that dream did not stop the couple from opening this new cultural venue featuring a collection of unique modern artworks.

Located in the heart of downtown Berthierville, the gallery aims to revive the vitality of the Place du Marché.

Olivier and Caroline wish to take part in the development of visual arts in Lanaudière with dynamism and innovation.

Why the name Berthelet?

The word Berthelet comes from the establishment formerly known as Le Château Berthelet, a hotel located near the North Channel in Lanaudière. Embraced by fire in the late 1970s, this cult venue in the region was a place for meetings, shows and heritage culture. The name Berthelet was the perfect name to revive the desire to share ART.

What is the mission of the Berthelet Art Gallery?

Bringing "art close to the people" is the main mission of the Berthelet Art Gallery. The company wants to be a "flagship" place that brings together all the current needs that an artist wants to develop.

The company's values are proximity, innovation and quality. These are three important elements for each of the works represented by the gallery.

Galerie d'art Berthelet offers a range of services to promote the Visual Arts from here and elsewhere with a unique and passionate service.
