Cynthia Coulombe Bégin

A dual North American artist born in Miami, CCB grew up in Quebec City where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2006 from Laval University. The artist uses the various artistic training courses taught by her parents from a young age to develop her own language.

More specifically, dance and martial arts have helped her develop her personality and aesthetics related to the body, which she uses in her painting practice. She has accumulated experience with exhibitions in various galleries and private companies, awards and collective events in Quebec and internationally such as New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Toronto, Palm Springs, San Francisco, Hong Kong. The year 2019 will be marked by his major participation in the visual of the Quebec version of the famous show La Voix 7 (The Voice) broadcasted on TVA.

Inspired by the body and the experience of humanity, CCB's creative approach is to reconstitute the organism in fragments with great sensitivity, offering a reflection on our identity and existence. Referring to the body and its evolution, she develops her pictorial research marked by her interest in the portrait in which the eyes and the mouth predominate. Through her works, the artist presents her thoughts on the soul and matter, consciousness and the universe.

A variety of techniques evolve and change with each experiment. Realistic brush renderings, spatula abstractions and spray paint form a happy mix of contemporary art inspired by street art. Cynthia Coulombe Bégin's images are imbued with symbolism and eroticism.
